Course Description

Weekly drop in oil painting classes for all abilities in which you will be able to work on oil painting projects of yours choice under the experts guidance of experienced tutor Lee Wright. In these classes I will help you develop your skills in painting with oils. You will learn through a combination of demonstrations, exercises and projects alongside analysis and discussion of your previous work and the work of other artists. I will work with you to identify the areas in which you can best improve your technical skills and give you the confidence to construct successful pictures across all genres. As well as teaching you lots about the technical skills of handling oil paint, I will focus on 5 important steps in creating great paintings: Composition, values, drawing, colour theory and finishing steps. These classes are intended for beginners and intermediate oil painters but will assume you have reasonable drawing skills. I keep the classes small so that you will get lots of individual attention.
